Handbooks

Next year’s handbook in an afternoon.

Upload last year’s handbook once and it becomes accessible web pages. Every summer, say what changed. Review only those changes, then publish the web pages and an accessible PDF. The translations follow.

Bring this year’s handbook to the demo as a PDF or Word file.

Every year

The handbook is copied, re-dated and re-approved, usually in the summer rush.

English first

Translations wait until the English version is final, then get rushed before school starts.

PDF only

A scanned or flattened PDF can’t be read aloud or resized on a phone.

New each year

A handbook posted after the ADA deadline isn’t covered by the old-document exception.1

How it works

Import once. Roll forward every year.

  1. Upload last year’s handbook

A PDF or Word file. It becomes web pages with real headings, so it can be searched, read aloud and translated.

  2. Say what changed

“New school year dates. Replace the phone policy with the board’s wording. Bus times from the new routes.”

  3. Review only the changes

Each change is marked, so you approve the four sections that moved instead of rereading sixty pages.

  4. Publish everywhere

Web pages, an accessible PDF and translated versions, with a parent sign-off form if you want one.

During the school day

Students may use phones during lunch and passing periods not use phones from the first bell to the last bell. Phones stay off and in lockers.

Review

Read the four changes, not the sixty pages.

Every change from last year is marked: what came out, what went in. Approve a section, or ask for a different wording in plain words.

  • Nothing changes silently. Sections you didn’t ask to change stay exactly as approved last year.
  • The board’s wording, word for word. Paste the approved policy text and it goes in as written.
  • Translations after approval. Each language version updates once you approve the English.

FAQ

Handbook questions.

What can we import?

Last year’s handbook as a PDF or Word file. It becomes web pages with headings and a contents list, ready to roll forward.

Do we have to rebuild the handbook every year?

No. Each summer you say what changed: new dates, new board policies, new bus times. The rest carries over exactly as approved, and you review only the changes.

Is the result accessible?

Yes. The handbook publishes as web pages built to WCAG 2.1 AA, plus an accessible PDF for families who want to download or print it.

How do translations work?

Once you approve the English version, the translated versions update to match, so families who read Spanish, Vietnamese or another language don’t wait.

Can parents confirm they’ve read it?

Yes. Add a sign-off form behind the parent login. Every sign-off lands in one list you can filter and export.
